Art is a state of mind…; often this phrase is over used and cliché... However in my case, artistic influence and inspiration
are often connected to the Italian cultural heritage - the Beccaros in music and the Viscontis in fine arts painting. As well as by my memories of childhood spent on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro and Natal, Brasil. A warm country
where life is encompassed by a festive atmosphere, innocence and a sensuality that occupies the same space.
I like to think my work has the same characteristics.
Some of my artwork is in US private collections (Oregon, Massachusetts, Colorado),
and in Brasil (Rio de Janeiro, RJ; Vitoria/ Vila Velha, ES; and Pocos de Caldas, MG).
My love for décor and design has a contemporary flare. A sketchbook is always present to capture
new ideas, dreams and visions, really whatever catches my eyes and touches my soul.
The use of color has always influenced my emotions and moods, whether it the colors on the walls or colors on my paintings.
I prefer a color palette that is uplifting and healing while maintaining a high level of sophistication.
Mixed media is the method of choice as the materials can be adjusted to best achieve
the desired effect of emotion on each individual piece.
My work has evolved through the many phases of my life,
which include the passing of my beloved grandparents and my mother’s long battle with breast cancer.
And lives happier times of marriage and children.
